Lidocaine topical anaesthetic is used to produce surface anaesthesia of the skin. It contains an anaesthetic called lidocaine 4%, a non-prescription strength, causing the numbing of the skin and surrounding tissue. It is used for local analgesia to reduce pain and discomfort caused by injections or skin irritations.
